A style of street drumming out of North Eastern Brazil that evolved from a mix of native Brazilian and African styles. Using large bass drums (Alfaias), Snare drums (Caixas), Bells (Gongue), Shakers (Afoxe), and more, this highly energetic music is played all over the streets of Recife and Olinda, especially during Carnaval Season.
