Five sets of hammered brass platinelas. These have a dryer, trashier sound than unhammered brass. Great for funk, jazz, etc.
This is the most common and most versatile size and style of pandeiro for playing samba, choro, MPB, and other rhythms from Brazil. The skin head can be tuned high or low. Brass platinelas have a warmer sound with a lower pitch. It’s a great drum to start learning on.
