Contemporanea Napa head, 12-24″

Napa heads are a two ply head made with a medium clear nylon head with a vinyl fabric on top. The fabric muffles the higher frequencies and focuses the fundamental tone. This is desirable on low tuned instruments: surdo, tantan, rebolo, and zabumba.
The nylon ply has some small holes that allow air to escape from between the two layers, preventing bubbles and allowing both heads to resonate together.
