Gope Double Tension Zabumba, 18″
18″ x 20cm wood shell
White coated plastic head on top, white nylon head on bottom
8 double tension tuning lugs with US drum key tension screws
This differs from other zabumbas, allowing separate tensioning of the top and bottom heads.
This is the most common and versatile size of zabumba. Great for all styles of forró music.
The Zabumba is used along with the triangle to play rhythms from the North East of Brazil, including baião, forró, xote, xaxado, quadrilha, and more.
This drum is played with a padded mallet on the top head and a “bacalhão” – a thin stick made from nylon or bamboo – on the bottom head.
