Welded steel bell made by Tadeu do Agogo
Bells are graduated size, from approx. 5″ long to 8″ long. 17″ tall with the handle. Weight is between 4.5 and 5 pounds.
Tadeu’s unique approach to this instrument is to tune all the bells to the same pitches, so all agogos will have the same tuning.
Used in Rio Samba school batteries including Grande Rio.
Description
The agogô bell is played in almost all styles of Brazilian music. The instrument and many of the rhythms it is used to play are African in origin.
